Symphony Orchestra of Albuquerque

The Symphony Orchestra of Albuquerque (SOA)
is dedicated to the production of music for enjoyment and appreciation. Yet, we also want to give quality of life. Our group consists of approximately 65 members at full instrumentation. During recent years, we have had the pleasure to work with two outstanding conductors, Dr. John Ward, and Michael Mauldin. We also have an adult choir (led by Daniel Davis), and a Youth Choir (led by Julie Smith). We perform six concerts per year, and we have many other special concerts (such as Pops and Light Classics). We continually provide music for elementary schools here in Albuquerque and New Mexico. Our "Elementary School Music Outreach Program" venue has taken music to more than 20,000 students in recent years. It is our goal to emphasize the creativity that is in each child.

If you have any questions or comments please call the Symphony Office at (505) 296-6009

Violin (Linda Willoughby)

Piano (Charles McDaniel)

Cello (Karen Thompson)

Guitar (Linda Willoughby)

Voice (Julie Smith)

Group lessons are offered in Intermediate Violin only as this time

YOUTH CHOIR

A youth choir was started in January 2002 for both girls and boys between the ages of 9-15. Our outstanding choral leader and musical director of this group is Julie Smith. Rehearsal time for this choir is from 4-6 pm on Friday afternoons. Please call us if you would like to audition your child for this group. Rates are lower than for private instruction, running only $125 per semester.

Please call (505) 296-6009 if you wish to enroll yourself or a family member in any of our programs. Please note that we have three semesters, namely Spring, Summer, and Fall. Late-comers will be prorated accordingly.
